I am thrilled to be on the Teach with Jamaica Team for a second year!  Through my student teaching experience in a poverty-stricken area in Waco, TX, I have developed a heart that aches for under resource students and families.  I believe the most powerful weapon to combat this hardship is education.

 

 

This is my second year teaching fourth grade at McCall Elementary.  I was honored and humbled to receive “Beginning Teacher of the Year” for the 2009-20010 school year. God has blessed me with a collaborative, loving team of teachers at McCall.  Our principal’s desire is to have every teacher become a master teacher.  She provides us with the professional development, training, resources, and mentor teachers to help us become successful teachers.  I have seen growth and improvement in my teaching abilities through this support.  My desire is to share what I’ve learned with teachers in Jamaica so that they feel that same sense of empowerment.
